MEMBERSHIP
The NMPS is a state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics with over 300 pediatricians and allied pediatric providers in New Mexico. We have many opportunities for members to be involved in the chapter whether they have a small or large amount of time to commit. These include:
- Joining our membership. More members mean a stronger voice for children, pediatricians and allied pediatric providers in New Mexico.
- Getting involved in an initiative of interest to you. Our pediatric experts across the state lead many public and professional educational outreach efforts. Look over our list of committee chairs, champions, and key contacts and let them know how you would like to contribute. If you have an idea for a project that would benefit from chapter input, please let us know about it.
- Becoming a legislative liaison for the Legislative Action Network. This is a project of our State Government Affairs Committee (SGAC) to help our members foster relationships with their local senators and representatives, and is an important part of our advocacy efforts. If you'd like more information about becoming a legislative liaison, please contact us.
- Participating in one of our Executive Committee teleconference calls. This occurs the third Thursday of each month at noon and is a great way to help you determine if you want to pursue chapter leadership. If you'd like the call-in information, please send us an email request.
